There is a story behind the name Kura Road Naturals.
It begins in Pātea, a small town in South Taranaki, where my family has deep roots.
This is Kura Road — our family homestead and the farm where I spent many of my school holidays growing up.
The house in this photograph holds a lot of memories for me. It was a place of family, whenua, hard work and simple days. It was a place where I could slow down, be outside and feel connected to where I came from.
Those connections stayed with me as I grew older.
When I started Kura Road Naturals, I wanted the name to have meaning. I didn't want to create a brand that simply sounded nice. I wanted it to carry a piece of my own story.
So I chose Kura Road.
Today, Kura Road Naturals is my way of bringing together my love of simple self-care, natural ingredients and the knowledge and values that have shaped me.
I believe self-care doesn't have to be complicated.
Sometimes it is as simple as taking a few quiet minutes for yourself, rubbing a little balm into your hands, taking a breath and allowing yourself to slow down.
My products are made in small batches with care and intention. From Kawakawa Balm to Kawakawa & Hempseed Balm, Sleep Balm and Aftershave & Beard Balm, each product is created with the idea that everyday self-care can be simple, grounding and meaningful.
The connection to Kura Road reminds me why I started.
It's about coming back to what matters.
Whenua.
Whānau.
Connection.
Care.
And perhaps most importantly, remembering to put a little care back into ourselves.
So when you see the name Kura Road Naturals, I hope you know that there is a real story behind it.
It comes from a place that has been part of my family for years.
A place filled with memories.
A place I still carry with me.
This is Kura Road. And this is where my story begins. 🌿
Made with aroha in Aotearoa.
